EK1 Iron Cross / Eisernes Kreuz Rudolf Souval marked mark L/58 nonmagnetic /brass/ late period wartime period types
Rudolf Souval’s many types were known in collectors’ circles.
He made first and second class crosses
This piece is an late non magnetic version, the so-called traditional regular own pin type.
The rarity of this piece is that this piece contains an L/58 marking on the pin on the back, which is interesting and also very rare, since these pieces with pins were only marked in the late stages of the war, so not many pieces exist.
So far, pieces with 2 types of upper cores, have been found, one of which is equipped with a traditional early self-made core, while the other piece has an inner core made by Friedch Orth, as we know the two manufacturers were closely related .
The inner core found in the cross is brass (non magnetic) and is the so-called regular type (swastika on the base) produced by Souval.
Nice collection piece
The last picture shows the complete collection, all types are visible, of course the price is the advertised one (per piece)
