EK1 Iron Cross / Eisernes Kreuz Carl Wild PKZ number 107
This cased EK1 attractive set. The Iron Cross First Class is a beautiful example that is likely unworn, and that remains in near mint condition. The frame shows crisp beading and great luster on the outer frame.
The condition of this piece is excellent, as not only are pieces from this manufacturer rare, but almost without exception the paint has peeled off the inner iron core over time, and most of the examples found are in poor condition (presumably no primer was used and therefore almost all of the pieces are in poor condition). the paint came off and rusted over time).
The swastika and “1939” date are crisp. On the reverse, this cross is maker marked on the pin with the PKZ number “107” indicating manufacture by the firma of Carl Wild in Hamburg, a less commonly encountered maker of this award. The back of the frame shows great shine. This cross is beautifully displayed in its original case of box, which is in excellent condition. The lid has a representation of the award embossed in silver foil. The silk lid and hinge cover inside are intact and the condition very nice.
