These pieces are interesting pieces, as Walter & Helnelin did not have permission to produce EK1 for second class crosses only.
Despite this, such pieces were made with traditional pin and screw plate mounting solutions.
The inner core magnetic
This piece is slightly curved, which made it easier to wear (it didn’t get stuck somewhere as easily as the plain straight badge
On these crosses, you can clearly see a typical hole under the hinge, (which makes this type easy to identify), the purpose of which was to allow the gases from soldering to leave the badge. These solutions were not really used on crosses, (since none of the manufacturers used them) they were mainly used on more complex badges
there is no painting on the swastika, they have apparently been completely removed / perhaps for a better appearance, as it stands out and contrasts with the black/
