EK1 Iron Cross / Eisernes Kreuz Wilhelm Deumer early so called “schinkel” form non-magnetic type
This piece is a popular type among collectors, as it is perhaps the type with the most graceful form, the so-called schinkel form.
These pieces are increasingly difficult to find, as only a few were made, as these frames are smaller than the usual 44 mm measuring pieces, as the frames from the First World War that remained were still used.
Later, due to a regulation, they could not be used, so after 41 Deumer only made first and second class pieces with traditional 44m frames.
This example is a very impressive piece, as it is likely that /since there is no paint on either the swastika or the year/ the paint could have been removed manually, thus making the cross very characteristic, emphasizing the mark and the year.
On the reverse side there is an early pin system, which was only used by the manufacturer on these early pieces, later these were replaced with a new version.
The material brass, so nonmagnetic type.
Compared to the plain traditional PKZ and LDO marked Deumer crosses, these early pieces are real curiosities and are no longer easy and increasingly rare to find.
