EK1 Iron Cross / Eisernes Kreuz Rudolf Souval magnetic regular so called deep- 3 late type wartime period types

Rudolf Souval’s many types were known in collectors’ circles.
Unfortunately, many people are wary of these later versions, in many cases rightly so, since it is well known that Souval also made EK1 crosses after the war, the traditional post-war pieces without the swastika, but also pieces with the swastika due to later demand.
Therefore, an uninitiated collector unfortunately confuses these with pieces made during the war period, and this has led to many disagreements or even discussions about their authenticity.
Since these pieces also contained the hallmarks from which it was possible to determine when the given piece could have been made.
Thus the “dreaded” deep-3 type was created.

This piece is also a so-called deep-3, since this tool was later converted to produce the pieces made after the war.

In the following additional pictures I will show what the difference is that allows you to distinguish when the piece is from.
I have marked the differences with arrows of different colors, you can see the modifications that were made by re-cutting the pressing tool and using other materials.

On the left you can see the “post-war piece” which for example contains the original frame, since it is likely that several pieces remained from those produced during the war, but the other parts show telltale differences.
And of course there is also a completely, completely post-war version which is completely different from the piece just shown.

The hook was made round wire
the needle has a such type scratch ,( this damage made was likely to be done by the tool when the needle was made )
typical flaw on the frame
but lot of after war type was made ,wartime period front made front frame too ,but not yet will be good piece
The front frame have a typical flaw on the frame ( unfortunately the Souval company made crosses with original parts (it will remain during the war, but not used with parts )
And these the tools used the late crosses too
And after war these pieces , they put together.
On the war time period types ,always have :
The inner core always have pedestal.
On the back plate the hook was made round wire , and not flat lamina
on this the needle has a such type scratch ,( this damage made was likely to be done by the tool when the needle was made ) but the over time, they faded. ( therefore the late pieces already this the efect no appear.
Lot of after war type was made ,wartime period front made front frame too ,but not yet will be good piece.

And of course there is also a completely, completely post-war version which is completely different from the piece just shown.
The additional pictures show the pieces that were actually made in the 70s-80s. To avoid any misunderstanding, these pieces were also made by the Soval company, so the pieces are “original” but not from the war era, but they were manufactured by the same company.

The last picture shows the complete collection, all types are visible, of course the price is the advertised one (per piece)
